How do you install Mela Mute Large Acoustic Foam Panels?

We recommend X60 spray adhesive for most jobs. Spray both the foam and the wall or ceiling with 80-100% coverage, and leave up to a 1/2" gap around the panel edge for handling. Let the adhesive tack up for 2-4 minutes. Then press the panel into place gently. Alternatively, you can install them with a combo of P329 spray adhesive plus construction adhesive. Yes, you can paint Mela Mute Acoustic Foam Panels. Our Light Grey is the best color to paint, because it is our lowest priced option. Use a latex paint. Thicker panels absorb more, and the biggest differences are at 125 Hz, 250 Hz, and 500 Hz. At 125 Hz, a 4" panel absorbs 0.53 compared to 0.18 for a 1" panel. At 250 Hz, it is 0.80 compared to 0.23.
