Mega Zorbe Pro™ - Hydrophobic Melamine Foam Panels

Mega Zorbe Pro goes in the same places as Mega Zorbe. That includes door cavities with enough clearance, the roof above the headliner, and behind van wall panels. Its 1" and 2" thickness suits the bigger cavities in large SUVs, vans, and pickup trucks. Always install it on the interior of the vehicle, never on the floor.

Choose 2" Mega Zorbe Pro when you want the most absorption and have the space. It reaches NRC 0.80, compared with NRC 0.65 for the 1". The biggest gaps are at low and middle frequencies. At 250 Hz, the 2" absorbs 0.60 and the 1" absorbs 0.23. Choose 1" when clearance is limited.

Mega Zorbe Pro has an NRC of 0.65 at 1" and 0.80 at 2". The table shows how much each thickness absorbs at each frequency.

Mega Zorbe Pro is our thicker melamine foam, in 1" and 2" sheets that are 24" x 48" (8 sq ft). Mega Zorbe is 1/2" thick in 24" x 24" (4 sq ft) sheets. Choose Mega Zorbe Pro for larger cavities and stronger absorption. Choose Mega Zorbe when space is tight.

Yes, Mega Zorbe Pro is hydrophobic. It is the same melamine foam as standard melamine foam, treated to repel water through its full 1" or 2" thickness. ASTM D2842 testing shows less than 1.5% water absorption after 15 minutes and less than 4% after 96 hours.

Peel & Stick Mega Zorbe Pro is the easiest to install, since you press it straight onto clean metal. No Adhesive Mega Zorbe Pro uses P329 spray adhesive, which bonds foam to foam and suits stacked layers.

Yes, Mega Zorbe Pro is UL 94 V-0 certified. It is also Class A fire rated according to ASTM E84, with a flame spread below 25 and smoke developed below 50.

Cut Mega Zorbe Pro with a band saw and a small-toothed blade. This is the recommended tool for 1" and 2" foam. Leave enough clearance to reinstall your upholstery or trim.

To install Mega Zorbe Pro, remove the headliner or plastic panels to expose bare sheet metal. Clean the metal with denatured alcohol. Cut the foam to size with a band saw and a small-toothed blade, leaving room to reinstall your trim. Press on the Peel & Stick foam, or use spray adhesive on the No Adhesive version. Yes, you can layer Mega Zorbe Pro when you have the clearance. Use the No Adhesive version, and apply P329 spray adhesive to both faces of the foam. Spray adhesive bonds foam to foam better than the peel and stick backing. Wait 2-4 minutes until tacky, then press for several minutes. Inside a door cavity, check window clearance first.

Mega Zorbe Pro works from -40°F to 350°F, with an R-value of 4.16 per inch. For an engine compartment or other very hot space, we recommend Mega Block.
