PolyZorbe™ Polyester Acoustic Clouds

A 1" PolyZorbe Cloud rates NRC 0.70 and a 2" cloud rates NRC 0.95. Both absorb across the speech range and above.

A 1" cloud suits speech-range absorption in offices and meeting rooms. A 2" cloud suits studio control rooms, music rooms, theaters and gymnasiums, where control across a wider range of frequencies matters more. At 125 Hz, the 2" cloud absorbs 0.31 and the 1" cloud absorbs 0.08.

A cloud hangs parallel below the ceiling from four corner points. Screw the included cloud hanger corkscrew in at least 4" from each corner, then run cable from each eyelet to the ceiling structure. Every cloud uses 4 hangers. Your installer or contractor can advise on anchoring the cable. See our PolyZorbe Cloud corkscrew install guide for the steps.

Yes, PolyZorbe Clouds are Class A fire rated according to ASTM E84, with a flame spread of 15 and a smoke developed rating of 250.

The standard cloud is 24" x 48" (8 sq ft).

We recommend hanging a PolyZorbe Cloud from a wire at each corner as standard practice. For a single center point, consult your installer.

PolyZorbe Clouds can be hung at whatever distance you want. If you have low clearance or prefer them up out of the way, a shorter drop distance is normal and common in studio control rooms. For rooms with tall ceilings, your installer should consider sprinkler clearance, lighting and visual appearance.

If a corkscrew hanger goes into a cloud crooked or pokes through, start a new hole instead of reusing it. Keep it symmetrical with the other corners so the cloud hangs flat.

A cloud needs cleaning about as often as your ceiling does, which can be every few years. Vacuum the face with a soft brush attachment or blow it off with air. A dry sponge or damp white cloth handles light dirt. For stains, use a carpet cleaner such as Resolve or Spot Shot after testing a hidden spot.

PolyZorbe Clouds are made from 60% recycled polyester and 40% virgin PET. They have no formaldehyde and no chemical irritants.
