The cost of a soundproof window depends if it's a new or existing window and then how soundproof you need the window to be. We divide the universe up into two types of window customers:

- Customers looking to soundproof an exterior window (mix of commercial and residential)
- Customers who require a certain STC rating (mostly commercial)

Exterior Facing Soundproof Window Cost
Depending on the soundproofing method, the cost of soundproofing a window is between $100 - $1000. The world is a noisy place. Whether it’s your work from home office or your bedroom, having some peace and quiet will improve your quality of life. When looking for how to block noise from an outside window, you basically have 2 options.
1. Cost of soundproofing windows by replacing the existing windows
Replacing the windows in your home is a big project, and soundproofing results are not guaranteed. If your windows need replacing though, they need replacing.

2. Cost of window soundproofing by covering the existing windows
To soundproof an existing window without replacing it, the key is to create an airtight seal over the existing window with a dense barrier. You basically have 3 options.

- Find the densest/heaviest curtains you can find and install them extended well past the edges of the window. We hesitate to call them “soundproof curtains” because they won’t be airtight, and they won’t be rated for STC. Results: minimal (1-5 db)
- Cover the window with a dense, soundproof material or one of our soundproof blankets. You won’t be able to see out your window anymore, but who save life didn't have trade-offs?? Luxury Liner mass loaded vinyl must be sealed airtight, but the sound blankets can be hung close to airtight and still get good results. Results: moderate (4-10 db)
- Install a Fantastic Frame soundproof window insert over the existing window. The Fantastic Frame inserts are custom-built to create an airtight seal over the existing window. They are also great for soundproofing a skylight. The proprietary tech in the frames allows them to improve window insulation and reduce noise through the window up to 80%. Results: significant (10-20 db)

1) Tru Acoustics STC 45 Soundproof Window
This window is your entry level soundproof window. It’s a 4-1/2” aluminum frame with a 1” thick, angled glass unit. They fit any wall thickness, and can be customized to any size of window.
2) Tru Acoustics STC 49 Soundproof Window
This window is where the rubber meets the road. It’s also 4-1/2” thick, but we’ve beefed up the airspace to 2” with an acoustical core for even better soundproofing performance. Yet again, we can do just about any size of window.
3) Tru Acoustics STC 56 Soundproof Window
This window is the power hitter and the go-to window for your highest level acoustical requirements. Bigger airspace, more glass, more acoustical core – it’s got it all. The STC 56 Tru Acoustics window comes in… you guessed it. Any size you need.
