PolyZorbe™ Polyester Acoustic Baffles

Each PolyZorbe Baffle absorbs about 3.80 to 8.10 sabins at 1" thick and 4.85 to 10.35 sabins at 2" thick. The range depends on hanging depth and spacing, and deeper, wider spacing gives the higher number.

Choose a 2" baffle for the most absorption, especially at low frequencies. At 125 Hz, a 2" baffle absorbs 4.65 sabins and a 1" baffle absorbs 3.43 sabins (24" depth, 24" spacing). A 1" baffle still handles speech well.

A baffle hangs perpendicular to the ceiling. Screw the included corkscrew hangers into the top edge at least 3" in from the edge and centered on the thickness. Then hang the baffle from cable or light chain. The cable or chain is not included. Consult your installer or contractor for help anchoring it to the ceiling structure. Yes, PolyZorbe Baffles are Class A fire rated according to ASTM E84, with a flame spread of 15 and a smoke developed rating of 250.

The standard baffle is 24" x 48" (8 sq ft). It hangs in portrait or landscape.

The distance from the ceiling does not change how well a baffle works. Consider sprinkler clearance, lighting and appearance when determining the right height for your install.

If a corkscrew hanger goes into a baffle crooked, start a fresh hole instead of reusing the first one. Match its position to the opposite edge so the baffle hangs level.

Most ceilings need cleaning every few years, and baffles are the same. Vacuum the face with a soft brush attachment or blow it off with air. A damp white cloth lifts light dirt, and a carpet cleaner such as Resolve or Spot Shot, tested on a hidden spot, handles stains.
