Thermal Insulation

Motor Mat is a high thermal acoustic barrier made of acoustic grade open celled foam treated with aluminum an facing reinforced with fiberglass cross-threads.
Motor Mat is designed to reflect radiant heat from the engine, transmission and exhaust while dissipating airborne sound waves. Apply Motor Mat to the engine side of the firewall or hood to reflect heat and noise away from the cabin of the car and reduce engine noise inside the vehicle.

What is the difference between Motor Mat and Motor Mat Pro?
Motor Mat and Motor Mat Pro are both designed to be thermal acoustic hood liners. The difference is in the foam that the foil is bonded to.

Motor Mat is bonded to a light weight open celled foam.
Motor Mat Pro is bonded to a heavier, closed cell foam which makes it better at reducing noise and heat.

Why do I have to apply Motor Mat Pro on top of Damplifier Pro first? Can't I use Motor Mat by itself?
Motor Mat Pro is a noise barrier and thermal insulation mat. It is only capable of reducing airborne noise. Since airborne noise accounts for less than half of the total reducible noise in a car, the structure borne noise has to be treated first. Applying a layer of Motor Mat Pro on top of Damplifier Pro is the best way to reduce both types of unwanted noise.
